Medical Savings & Loan v Insurance

The Medical Savings and Loan is a free market alternative to insurance. My observation is that much of our discontentment with health care comes from an ill conceived effort to use group funding for individual consumption. Returning to a system of individual financing for individual consumption will help restore balance

The two most notable difference between the Medical Savings and Loan and insurance is that, in the MS&L, people keep their health care dollars and negotiate directly with doctors for service.

Pooled insurance uses a complex system of regulated claims and an internal political process to distribute funds.
